Privacy Policy

A plain account of what this site keeps, and what it doesn’t.

Last updated May 26, 2026

My name is Keith Bennett. I live on the La Habra Heights hillside, and this site is how a neighbor who received a letter from me can look a little closer before we ever speak. I have spent forty-five years working alongside attorneys, and I have kept their habits — including a plain respect for a person’s privacy. This page explains, without lawyering it up, what this website does and does not do with information.

The short version

  • Anything you send through this site comes to me, Keith Bennett, and to no one else.
  • Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with, or gathered for, any third party.
  • There is no advertising on this site, and nothing here follows you anywhere else.
  • This site is meant for adult hillside property owners. It is not directed to minors.

What you choose to tell me

The only information this site asks of you is what you decide to write into the contact form — usually a name, an email address, and a few sentences about your property and what is on your mind. You decide what to share, and how much.

When you send that form, the message comes directly to me. A copy is also kept within this website’s own system, so a note is never lost. It is used for one thing: to read what you wrote and to write you back. It is never sold, rented, traded, or handed to anyone else.

What the site records on its own

Like nearly every website, this one runs on ordinary web hosting that keeps basic technical logs — the date and time of a visit, the general kind of browser or device used. That is routine record-keeping, not a profile of you, and it is not used to track anyone.

This site runs no advertising networks and uses no third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking tools.

Cookies

This site uses only the basic cookies WordPress sets to run a website properly. They are not used to follow you across other sites. Some pages load typefaces from Google’s font service so the site reads as it was designed to; that service may note the request as part of delivering the font. You may set your browser to refuse cookies if you prefer — the site will still work.

Children’s privacy

Private Spaces is written for adults — owners of hillside residential property in La Habra Heights and the hills around it. These are individuals over 18 years of age, not minors.

This site is not intended for, directed to, or marketed to minors, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Consistent with California’s privacy protections for younger residents, if information has been provided through this site by someone under 18 — or by a parent or guardian on their behalf — a request to remove it, sent through the contact page, will be honored and the information deleted.

Your choices, including for California residents

Because this site does not sell personal information and does not share it with third parties, there is nothing of that kind to opt out of. At any time, you may ask me what information of yours is held, ask that it be corrected, or ask that it be deleted. A note through the contact page is all it takes.

A word about letters

From time to time a neighbor in La Habra Heights receives a hand-addressed letter from me, by ordinary mail, introducing this site. If you have received one and would rather not receive another, simply say so through the contact page, and your address will not be written again.

Questions, and changes to this page

Any question about this policy, or any request regarding your information, can come straight to me through the contact page. If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top.

This page is offered in the spirit of plain transparency between neighbors. It is not legal advice.
